I was having a series of problems with that route. It kept on getting hung
up looking for sda1 even though I deleted all mention of it in fstab, mtab,
devices.map and menu.1st. I was also getting "/boot/grub/stage1 not read",
and some other hangups that I would just assume forget. But, I suspect that
as I get a better conceptual idea of what is going on, that many of these
problems will fade away in the future, especially with your continued help.
