This seems wasteful. I imagine my keyboards will end up somewhere in 
the developing world contaminating the groundwater and giving children 
heavy metal poisoning or some such. It makes economic sense, but 
doesn't seem like a good solution.

Isn't there something you could dip them in that would clean it without 
gumming it up...

Hospitals must do this with their equipment... there has to be a way to 
do this being flu season and all.. (without putting some kind of 
plastic cover on the keyboard. I hate those).
