[*BCM*] Important MassBike Action Alert: Boston City Council hearing

            Boston City Council Hearing Monday, September 20
            Attention MassBike members! The Boston City Council has
announced a hearing this Monday, September 20 in response to the death this
summer of cyclist Kirsten Malone. The hearing will take place at 5:00 p.m.
at the Honan-Allston Branch Library, 300 North Harvard St. in Allston, and
will discuss issues of bikes and bike safety across the city, as well as
upcoming repaving projects.

            Please attend this hearing if possible and share your
experiences as a cyclist in the city. Specifically, it would be tremendously
helpful if you could:

            --Urge the city to work with MassBike to conduct a public
service announcement campaign aimed at increasing bike safety awareness

            --Ask the city to seek input from MassBike and the cycling
community in all upcoming repaving projects, so as to ensure that roads are
safe for bicyclists.
