[Linux-disciples] xmms and streamripper

I am trying to get kstreamripper to work.  However, it
just hangs on 'connecting'.  It seems that it invokes
xmms <url>.  When I click on a stream link from a
browser (e.g. http://www.somafm.com/dronezone.pls)
xmms opens up and plays it.  However, the command line
$xmms http://www.somafm.com/dronezone.pls opens up
xmms' file selection dialogue.  Does anyone have an
idea on where to look for the missing link?
