You can only revert to what is in /var/cache/apt/archive or one of your
apt sources.
At least with Debian, the apt repository tends to keep a few past
versions around in the same directory--eventually they fade away, and
you need to go to snapshot.debian.net to find them. I don't know how
long, if at all, Ubuntu keeps old versions around. Is there the
equivalent of testing and unstable? Can you find what's in testing and
go to that?
