[Linux-disciples] gdm resolution

I'm having trouble setting my screen resolution in gdm. From what I've
seen, I should be able to change this by listing the desired resolution
first in the Modes directive in my xf86config, but that isn't working.
I looked in my XFree86 log file and saw a whole bunch of lines like this:
Not using default mode "800x600" (hsync out of range)
Not using default mode "1024x768" (hsync out of range)
Any idea what to do? With the exception of my mouse, everything in my
XF86Config was created from "X --configure" Moreover, I can see an
hsync range defined in my configuration, and from what I know about
monitors, it seems reasonable...
Also, when I run "startx" instead of "gdm", the resulting screen comes
up in a different (higher) resolution. Not really sure why (aren't they
supposed to use the same configuration??), but thought I'd throw that in
as well..
Thanks,
Brian
