I got it working. It looks like I had /etc/network/interfaces configured
for a static IP address (a misunderstanding from the Debian installer).
Now I'm having difficulty getting my Omnibook to recognize the Thinkpad
over the router. Here's the syntax for transferring the files:
scp Uncritical_Reading.doc ntrivedi at 192.168.1.102:
which results in:
ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.101 port 22: No route to host
lost connection
