It's odd, though, that it didn't care about whitespace
before I used '^' and '()' together. So for instance, I've
been using

save-hook '~C person1 | ~C person 2' '=folderName'

for a while. I guess there, though, that the regex is just
'personN' with no spaces, whereas

~C (person1 | person2)

actually does contain spaces in the regex. Interesting.
