[Linux-disciples] Re: Mutt seems to have what I'm looking for

Relatedly, the same page suggests that mutt should be able
to handle patterns of the form
~C (person1|person2|person3)
but when I try that I get an error that I've used an invalid
pattern; instead I have to distribute the ~C through:
(~C person1 | ~C person2 | ~C person3)
Not a huge deal, but the first form is cleaner. Any idea
why mutt on my end can't seem to handle the first form?
If you're wondering which version of mutt I'm running,
apt-show-versions gives
mutt/unstable uptodate 1.5.6-20040907+1
