[Linux-disciples] NIS questions

Wow: every now and then Linux seems blindingly obscurantist.
The simple answer to my problem is this: I need to edit
/etc/sysinfo/network, and add the line

NISDOMAINNAME=[domain.name]

There we go; problem solved.
