A little thinking suggests that the answer is like so:

* I want to upgrade Package A to unstable.
* Unstable Package A depends on Package B.
* Package B conflicts with a bunch of other
  already-installed packages.
* Hence installing package A will force deletion of any
packages that conflict with Package A.

I guess I'm just surprised, then, that upgrading Apache
within the 1.3 series would cause such a massive set of
conflicts.

So: what's the easiest way to figure out the packages that
are ultimately causing the conflict? E.g., which package
does Apache need that conflicts with Straw? Is there some
quick way to map out the conflicts?
