[Linux-disciples] nVidia drivers redux

Apparently the nVidia drivers need access to the source code
of the kernel I'm using, so that they can be compiled using
the appropriate files. But come to think of it, I'm just
using a stock kernel; in order to get the installer to work,
I should only have to un-bzip the kernel and go from there;
I needn't do any configuration (make config, etc.) to get
the driver to work.

Is that logic correct? If so, I wonder why I can't get this
nVidia installer to work. Does anyone else have experience
with these sorts of drivers?

Right now the best source seems to be here:
http://people.debian.org/~rdonald/index.php

instead of the nVidia distribution. We'll see if that helps.
