I might be too late, but you don't need to rename the files.  This 
filename format is used by Apple internally on the iPod (They are 
intentionally obfuscating the filenames to make it harder to illegaly 
copy individual mp3s).  All you need to do is re-import the files to her 
iTunes library, and iTunes should automatically grab the song data.  
Further, if you have "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" checked as a 
preference in iTunes (in the Advanced tab), it will put a copy of the 
imported files on the computer's drive with the correct name.
