[Linux-disciples] Waiting

[Stephen R Laniel]

What's the easiest way, in a shell or Perl script, to pause
for some length of time, in the meantime using no system
resources? Is there some sort of wait() function? All I can
find is waitpid() and its ilk, which isn't what I want.
