[Linux-disciples] CUPS wants a password

I installed HPLIP toolbox. It recognizes my printer (HP Deskjet 842-c), but
when I go to do anything a CUPS password dialogue comes up. The problem is
that my username and password do not work. I read somewhere that you have to
use your root account. Well, just typing root and then using the password
that I use for sudo does not work either. I think that this might be because
of Ubuntu's default of not allowing root login (which came up previously on
this list, I think).

The following does not seem to work:

nahash at ubuntu:~$ sudo lppasswd nahash
Enter password:
Enter password again:
lppasswd: Unable to open passwd file: Permission denied
nahash at ubuntu:~$
