[Linux-disciples] Can't copy some text from Mozilla

Not specifically Linux but...

I lead a prayer group and find the site worldinprayer to be very useful.
http://www.hometown.aol.com/worldinprayer/index.htm?f=fs

However, when I attempt to cut and paste it into openoffice, all of the
countrys' names are missing, even in the so-called printer friendly version.

An example of the source text is as follows

<p class=MsoNormal><b style='mso-bidi-font-weight:normal'><span
  style='font-size:18.0pt'>A</span></b><span style='font-size:14.0pt'> lawyer
who was defending an associate of Saddam Hussein has been found shot dead
after he was abducted in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City
w:st="on">Baghdad</st1:City>,
   <st1:country-region
w:st="on">Iraq</st1:country-region></st1:place>.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>

The word "Baghdad" does not copy to the clipboard.

So, I am curious.

1) What is the apparent reason behind surrounding locations with all that
code?
2) Is there a benefit (like a hyperlink etc.) that I am missing out on from
Mozilla?
3) Is there a way to copy it? I have the extension "copy plain text" for
Mozilla, but I do not like to use it because I like the paragraph breaks and
the bold emphasis for the responses etc.

Any web developers out there?
