[Linux-disciples] Releasing smaller bits

With how long it's taken Sarge to come out, I wonder:
wouldn't it be easier just to break the distribution into
multiple pieces (say, Servers, Desktop Apps, etc.) -- what
Componentized Linux calls a component [1] -- and release
components as they become available?

Does anyone know whether Debian is considering something
like this? Given Ian Murdock's involvement in Componentized
Linux, it wouldn't surprise me.
