[Linux-disciples] X.org stops working after upgrade

Normally, of course, the package configuration system should handle all
of this. My vague impression is there is not necessarily an external
file that must correspond to every module loaded; some may be internal.
Have you tried:
(1) commenting out module lines that aren't loading
(2) find /usr/x11R6 -iname \*whatever_you're_looking_for\*
?
Finally, failure to load modules shouldn't stop X from starting. You're
problem is "no screens found" which may be separate.
