I'm intrigued by mutt-ng (="-next generation"):

I'm curious whether it will address any of the problems I
have with mutt. It's a great client, but imperfect. It
definitely "sucks less" rather than "rocks more." And
development on it appears to have stagnated. Maybe this will
be a more-vibrant fork.
