[Linux-disciples] "No partitionable media"

Anyone ever gotten this error when installing Debian?

They recommend looking at this bug:

If I set the 'linux26' option, the installation actually
fails earlier: it says that it can't detect a CD-ROM in the
drive.
This strikes me as Really Bad. The Debian installer
shouldn't behave this way.
