If they don't suggest it, it's certainly not going to be easy. (because
they haven't made it easy for you).
Your best bet would probably be to see if you can get it running under
Cygwin.
Gnucash relies no glade (user interface builder for GTK+/GNOME) and guile
(a scheme interpreter). If you wanted to run Gnucash under Windows
plain, you'd have to start and see if glade and guile have been ported to
Windows. I don't think that would get you all the way there, though.
Maybe this would be a good time to give your "friend" a dual-boot Linux
machine and start using Gnucash under Linux.
