[Linux-disciples] Can't perform SMART test successfully

I'm unable to complete a SMART "long" test successfully on my laptop.
There is apparently a bad block. I ran badblocks (via e2fsck -c), but
that appears to be a different level of abstraction than the SMART tests.

Does anyone know if this means my drive is hosed long term? The drive is
still under warranty, so I could replace it if need be.

(the test always ends with
# 1  Extended offline    Aborted by host               80%       507 -
)
