[Linux-disciples] printing from command-line in OSX

I am trying to print from the command line in OSX, but I am having 
trouble.  Here's what I typed followed by the error received:

cat ingredients | lpr -P "HP_4050 on 10.0.1.18"
lpr: unable to print file: client-error-not-found

where "HP_4050 on 10.0.1.18" is the description of the printer in CUPS. 
  Is there anything I'm missing?  Is there a way to simply specify the 
printer's IP address on the LAN to lpr?
