I think you would do some sort of grep on the output of urpmq--there
should be some sort of switch for urpmq that gives the status (installed
or uninstalled).

See generally <http://urpmi.org/> for all the various ways to manipulate
the Mandrake packaging system.  It's not quite as robust as APT, though.
