[Linux-disciples] Odd errors running lilo

You probably never installed grub in your boot sector. Just installing
the Debian package has no effect. You need to do grub-install and
update-grub.

Very unlikely that this has anything to do with a non-Debian kernel.
I've never used a Debian packaged kernel, and it's never had any
repercussions. You're still use a DEB kernel, in any case.
Did you get Lilo out of unstable? My best guess would be version
incompatibility.
Grub generally works better anyway, so I would suggest just switching to
that.
