[Linux-disciples] Mounting within another mount point

I have one machine (call it 'the server') running Apache,
which therefore has a directory /var/log/apache. I have
another machine ('the client') that isn't
running Apache, but I'd like to have access to the server's
Apache logfiles on the client.
Now, the client already has a /var directory mounted, and a
/var/log. I suspect this is why I was just now unable to
mount /var/log/apache on the client, even though it's in
/etc/exports on the server.
Is there any way to make this mounting happen, given that I
can virtually guarantee that /var/log/apache will never be
created on the client's local filesystem?
