Yep: I've got that. Here's the info from apt-show-versions:
gcc-3.3/unstable uptodate 1:3.3.3-6

I already have that part taken care of.
With both of the above taken care of, I'm still getting the
error that I mentioned. Does some part of the source code
hardcode a different compiler version? I tried grepping for
anything that seems like it would have been relevant (2\.95,
3\.3, 2\., etc.). Nothing came up.
...Ah. Oops:
laniel at BlackThought:/usr/bin$ ls gcc
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Apr 15 13:08 gcc -> gcc-2.95
I need to change a symlink, is all.
