Hey Dylan,
Thanks for the pointer. I think mplayer works for most of these
QuickTime files, without any extras compiled in such as one needs
to make RealPlayer files play. It was more the plugin that I thought I
needed, but I just used Mozilla's Page Info to grab the name of the
QuickTime file that I wanted to play, ran wget on that file ... and now
see that the wget is stalled. For some reason it thought the MIME type of
the QuickTime .mov file was 'image/gif', estimated its length at 1,320
bytes - must be the URL is a stub which redirects to the actual file -
and seems to have stalled at the end of the file.
It's to avoid complications like this that I hoped to get the plugin. But
alas.
