[Linux-disciples] Getting blosxom POST requests to work

I'm having a hard time getting at least two blosxom plugins that use HTTP
POST to work. One is wikieditish
(http://www.blosxom.com/plugins/edit/wikieditish.htm), which allows you
to post to your weblog using a web form. The other is WriteBack
(http://www.blosxom.com/plugins/input/writeback.htm), which is a
commenting/TrackBack tool for weblogs. Both handle submissions via POST,
and presumably also need to write some files to store the comments/posts.

I tried adding permissions bit by bit, then went ahead and

1) changed the owner on every file underneath my website directory to
slaniel:www-data

2) gave the www-data group write access to all those directories (unsafe,
I know, but I figured I'd go through and remove write privileges once
I knew which directory needed them).

It didn't work. Try submitting a comment via, say,
http://laniels.org/cgi-bin/blosxom/my_life/lovely_saturday.writeback

It won't work. Any idea what could be the issue?
