*Stop the Eviction: Bike to the Blockade*
July 15, 11am

City Life/Vida Urbana calls for a solidarity action and potential blockade
of at 76 Perrin Street in Roxbury, just off Warren Street south of Dudley
Square. Paula Taylor once owned a condo at 76 Perrin. the Bank foreclosed
and is now seeking to evict her. She is willing to pay market rent to stay
in her home. If someone buys the property who wants a tenant, she would
also stay, or if a new owner wants to move in she would move out without a
fight. But as long as the Bank owns the property and would only leave it
vacant by pushing her out rather than accepting her rent to stay, she will
fight the eviction. City Life/Vida Urbana and the Bank Tenants Association
will physically blockade this eviction if necessary. This tactic has been
effective to keep other people in their homes, but thousands without
community support have been evicted after foreclosure even though they were
willing to pay rent to remain.
