[*BCM*] does this make sense

If we could develop "interstate" bike lanes along the highways, the way they
have in England, and, of course, the Netherlands (I biked along the highways
there from Rotterdam to Gouda to Utrecht), I think more people would
consider biking long term. While a network of bike lanes spanning country
roads would be more ascetically pleasing, a highway grade (but kept in its
own seperated right of way) system would be ideal for easy access via bike,
even more so in the US where the interstates go through the city centers.
However, this would only work on a few highways on the east coast due to the
congested construction of our highways up here (could you imageing finding
roam on 90 for a seperated bike right of way...). Long story short, its
another ideal world bike pipe dreams.
