[*BCM*] Bike Shops

If you run traffic lights in certain parts of Cambridge, you are likely to get a ticket.
Boston cops don't bother me, unless I make the mistake of riding through the Public Garden. Stay off the sidewalks as much as possible, except on the Esplanade/Memorial Drive along the Charles River. Learn how to ride through a rotary. Stay out of the 'door zone'. Take no guff from taxis. Brick pavers are slippery when wet.
My favorite shop is Broadway Bicycle School, on Broadway in Cambridge. Wheelworks & Back Bay Bikes are good. There are other good shops, too.
And most importantly, Critical Mass meets the last Friday of each month at Copley Square, 5:30 pm. Waaaahooooo !

Subject: [*BCM*] Bike Shops
Hey all,
I'm a biker from New York and moving to Boston at the end of the month. I was wondering if anyone knew a good (read: not too expensive) shop in the city. My old ride was stolen a few days ago and I want to get a new one as soon as I get in the city. If anyone has any info I would really appreciate the help. Also, do the Boston critical mass rides experience as much police harassment as we get from the NYPD? Just want to know if I should leave some traffic ticket room in my budget...
Thanks for the help, hope to ride with you soon,
-Pat
