[NB: A few schools out of existence: the old Forster Elementary School, now
location of the Winter Hill Community School.  There were two buildings.
The newer building was built in 1865. The school was in operation for more
than 100 years. For a time, the city was on a 6-3-3 system. There were three
junior highs.  One, Northeastern, was on Marshall Street between Broadway
and Medford Street.  There's a housing development there now.  The old
Western building, on Holland, is now used for Tufts U. admin purposes and an
array of Somerville municipal programs.  We should certainly visit the site
of the E. Somerville elementary school recently destroyed by fire.]
