I think adding the  bike parking locations was what Carla wanted.  I was
just wondering if there are any hidden racks... like maybe in the TAB
building or the Citizen bank building parking lots.  I'm still getting to
know the square.  In Central and Kendall I know some great covered spaces
that are hardly ever subject to vandalism because they are so little known
by the public.  Speaking of clearing out abandoned bikes, Larry Slotnick (do
you know him) and I are starting a new business...

Regarding "safe places to park a bike". The racks at the T and some bike
rings around the Square are what's available now.. I am not aware of any
rash of bike thefts. An urban area with a lot of bicycles certainly can
attract vandals and at least once a year we push the MBTA to clear out bikes
that have been abandoned. A good lock and a beater bike are the best
defense.. short of bike lockers...

Is there a map of bike parking in Davis Square? If not, can you maybe take a
crack at this map and let me know if there's any other parking in the
square, or if we should add verbage about single/ hoop spaces along holland/

HI Mark and Rob,
Not sure if you saw this but this came via Alice Martin and the
OSPCD.  I was wondering about adding some safe areas to store
bicycles to this map.  I know the bicycle racks across from us at the 
T are there but do you think they are safe and should we encourage
use/include them on the map?  If you don't think they are safe, do
you have any ideas that would encourage cyclists to bike and lock in
the square.  (I know my guys have gotten their bikes stolen from 
right outside our place.).   Where does Redbones valet and do you
have any ideas for the square as a whole.
