November 2006 meeting of the Somerville Bicycle Advisory Committee
Tuesday, November 21, 6:30-8:30 pm basement break room, City Hall

Proposed Agenda:

Reminder: Chair needs to recognizes speaker to minimize talking out of turn, and
it’s the Chair's perogative to go over time, extend discussion, etc.

1. <5 minutes: Consideration and approval of October minutes

2. <5 minutes: New Committee member status

3. 5 minutes: More bike parking in Davis Square (invite Alice Martin, SPCD
planner for Davis Sq. to future meeting)

4. 10 minutes: Bike parking (DEP grant, MAPC application, City installation,
inventory spreasheet)

5.  <5 minutes: Micro business grants ($2000) described in Union Square
newsletter – any opportunity?

6.  7-7:30: How to guide (long-term process) Somerville bike facilities “plan”
(lanes, no sidewalk biking, counterflow, crosstown routes, Bhupesh’s “plan”,
etc.)

7.  7:30 – 8 pm: Review and approve various SBC positions and proposed
correspondance
•	Guilford abandonment comments, comments to STB by 11/24/06
•	State Bike Plan, comments due? (soon)
•	Assembly Square redevelopment: comments to present re: 11/28/06
•	Green Line extension plans - comments to EOT by 11/24/06
•	Alewife Brook Parkway paths & trails - comments to DCR by ? (soon)

8. 10 minutes: Subcommittees - how to keep everyone motivated and involved?

9. Steve’s City Report and any other business

Upcoming meetings:

December 14, 2006 Meeting/hearing on Assembly Square redevelopment
A December meeting with Somerville’s legislative delegation and the Green Line
Forum (SBC is member)
