December 2006 meeting of the Somerville Bicycle Advisory Committee 

Tuesday, December 18, 6:30-8:30 pm basement break room, City Hall

 

Proposed Agenda: 

 

1. 5 minutes: Approval of October minutes

 

2. 5 minutes: New member status

 

3. 15 minutes: Proposed positions for the SBC to agree on:

o        Proposed letter to send to Alderman re: biking on sidewalks

o        Comments to DCR on Alewife Brook/Route 16 Paths, committee?, Wed.
DCR meeting?

o        Letter to Governor this week to pass Bike Bill

 

4. 20 minutes: Steve's City Report issues

o        MBTA appears willing to accept a revised alternative for the Path
through the busway area. Look at new plans?

o        East Coast Greenway Route, Mystic River path segment

o        DCR new policy related to revamping of its parkways. Comments are
due January 12

o        Answer from city attorney on "membership" in other organizations?

 

5. 15 minutes: Bike Racks - funding for purchases, city installation
process, survey status, Enid's suggestion of a website where cyclists could
express where they'd like to see racks, still need letter to the mayor in
support of the rack purchase?

 

6. 2nd hour - subcommittee meetings
