You mentioned that you thought it did the deleting part -- so I'm
wondering if the Windows software running in Linux is actually
resetting your pedometer. This would mean the device and the
software are talking, and the only problem is the uploading step.
Were that case, it might be possible to narrow/troubleshoot you
problem. If there's just no communication then it may be a more
difficult issue.
I'll look into Windows VM. Thanks.
You also might want to keep a Windows VM around which can
save you the trouble of rebooting.
This is probably a long shot, but my insurance
company gives me money for logging in steps off
of my pedometer. I plug it into the USB port on
Windows which triggers a program called gozone
to record the miles, clear the pedometer, and
send them to Virgin HealthMiles. <a

In Linux, the program opens in wine and puts a
little Virgin icon in the taskbar, which when I
right-click on, gives the options to "Visit
VirginHealthMiles.com" or exit. Clicking on
"visit" opens a Wine Internet Explorer and goes
to the page. So, there is life there.
Plugging in the pedometer gets this at the tail

I think that it does the deleting part as well.
However, it doesn't upload my steps, which means
a daily trip to Windows, which is obviously
cumbersome.

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

Is there any hope?
