I have a MS Natural Multimedia Keyboard- with preset buttons on the
top. I am using hotkeys, which works great. However, the
/etc/hotkeys.conf file does not have anything (that I can see) about
assigning volume control. When I press the volume up/down
buttons, <br>
<br>
I get the error<br>
<br>
"<span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);">nahash@ubuntu:/$ hotkeys: Unable to open `/dev/mixer': No such file or directory</span>"<br>
<br>
I tried making a softlink to alsamixer, and I get<br>
<br>
"<span style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);">hotkeys: Unable to read the volume of `/dev/mixer': Inappropriate ioctl for device</span>"<br>
<br>
This seems like it should be simple, but I can't think of what to do. Any help?<br>
