[Linux-disciples] dvd partial burning

I'm not even sure how to formulate this question, so maybe you can help
me. Here goes...

Using a DVD Writer 300n ' '3.00' Removable CD-ROM with the command:

:# growisofs -M /dev/scd0 -R -J /some/files

where /some/files is 1.1 GB, I get a burn that seems to work. It
processes, giving me percentages completed up to 100%, for about 30
minutes. But when I ls -al the contents, the burned file shows to be 9
MB. I tried it with a different file and got a final size of 10 MB.
What's also strange is that in looking at the back of the DVD, it looks
like it has all been burned. When I try the burn again, it tells me that
it will go over the 4 GB limit.

Burning was working great up to a week ago and I can't figure out what
could be the problem.
