Of course the best way to achieve equality is to treat all road users the same way. Make traffic laws (rights and responsibilities) apply to every single type of user in the same way, rather than segregating everyone into different categories.<br>
<br>Then remove all the confusing stuff - both physically and ideologically, including most signs, signals, paint, etc., and make public spaces more open ended, so that people are free to decided how to use the space in the way that makes the most sense at the time, rather than being forced to use it in some arbitrary authoritarian way that is totally nonsensical for the present needs of the users.<br>
<br>But no one is going to go for that in Boston. It's too liberal-libertarian. And Boston politics have a staunch conservative (Puritanical) bent when it comes to business/government functions.<br><br>So there's no point in anyone actually promoting this in Boston. :-) At least not for a long time, anyway.<br>
