I went for about an hour before it started raining buckets, but then I went home.

The things that went really well: (from my perspective)

- Handouts were made and passed out to people we passed by.

- Everyone who went was on the same page as far as, when to mass up when we got split up at lights.

- From my perspective, the group seemed a bit more outgoing than at a Critical Mass (perhaps because it was a smaller group)

- It really helped that Brenden (or Brandon?) rode a custom made tall bike... It really helps to have a bike like that in the group to get the attention of everyone we pass by.

- There were plenty of supportive hoots and hollas from people as we rode by, and not too many blaring car horns.

What didn't work quite as well: (from my perspective)

- The ride doesn't cover as much ground. It takes significantly longer to get the mass from one neighborhood to another because we have to "mass up" after basically every intersection. It seems that the bigger the group the more problematic this will become.

- We were more of a small herd than a "mass". But I think this will improve as word spreads.

I will continue to go to both masses because I think they both have merit. But I do wish there were some halfway point between the two masses... Perhaps such a mass would wait for green lights to begin passing through an intersection, but will "Cork" the intersection ONLY when the light changes and the mass has not passed completely through (for safety, and group coherence). And to be polite, we thank the drivers with a business card sized handout that says something like "This is Critical Mass, thank you for waiting"
