<WBR>The "in your home" was figurative. I do get the point that going through the system, when rehab could be the better alternative, creates an individual that cannot be reconstituted into society because they have to many black marks. <br>

That said, I do believe (or like to) that the system does provide opportunities for rehabilitation and the opportunity to get back into society. Some peeps, one way or the other, just can't cut it. I think the onus though, must also be placed on the individual, not that society should not help, but I believe a man is the maker of his own fate (yeah that's opened ended and bound to invite some incomiing).<br>

He simply asked, how good should we feel when a possibly “repeat offender” is taken off the street (for a period of time) without any avenues toward rehabilitation. Even without supposing that it was for a drug habit, there are little to no opportunities or training for job training. As Paul mentioned, the person is going to face serious CORI problems with employers (and this would be true even if he was acquitted), though that issue has been gaining greater attention recently.</SPAN></FONT></div>
