Wednesday, September 28. MassBike’s MetroBoston chapter is hosting the

Hub On Wheels bike ride and festival, organized by Mayor Thomas M. Menino and
the City of Boston, will kick off from Franklin Park early on September
25. The proceeds from the event will be used to enhance the technology
programs within the Boston schools and neighborhoods, and Hub On Wheels is also
donating $1/rider to MassBike to support local bicycling advocacy. </SPAN><SPAN
style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">MassBike has
negotiated a special deal for our members: a 40% discount off the regular
registration rate of $35. Simply enter the code “mabk” (case sensitive) at the

of three proposed bicycle/pedestrian bridges that are needed to complete the
pathway network of the new Charles River Basin. It appeared at the time that two
of these bridges might fall prey to current Big Dig funding priorities. We are
pleased to report that Big Dig officials responded to our concerns and have now
pledged that all three bridges will be built. Thank you to Big Dig leaders and
