activists who wrote and called Governor Romney. When the federal government
announced a “rescission” (a requirement that the state government return funds
that the federal government had already given them), MassBike and the cycling
advocacy community wanted to ensure that bike funding did not take a
disproportionate cut. Thanks to your grassroots advocacy, the administration
took note and 100% of Transportation Enhancements dollars (a key source of bike
funding) were preserved, and Recreational Trails funds were also saved. Thank
you for your advocacy efforts, and thank you to Governor Romney and his
Administration for their work to support funding of bike projects.
