[*BCM*] Red-light runners crackdown...

Wait, I'm confused... what's a situation where they wouldn't be allowed to
respond to the "Am I free to go?" question with a "No, sorry, I'm writing
you this ticket"...

Just so we're clear, it *IS* illegal to run a red light on a bicycle, right?
And if, having done so, a police officer pulls you over, you ARE being
detained, right? Unless "being detained" is "more" than being held while the
officer writes the traffic citation...?

The ID/Name thing I think is usually pretty standard for *all* police
interaction, though, right? If they just pull you over to be a dick, and
AREN'T writing a ticket, you usually don't have to tell them anything at
all. It's not until they have a "reason" to do so -- speeding/red
lights/sidewalk/etc that they can get positive ID (name, or license, etc).
But yea, an actual instance of the MA/Cambridge/Boston code would be good to
know/confirm that all...
