[*BCM*] back bay thefts

Y'all,

Approx. 38 year old man 5'10. sunglasses, blue jacket (same color as the cop's w/ a patch on the arm) Short woman - under 5 feet. They both wore helmets ! The jacket made me think for a moment that cops were taking my bike. As I looked for them after, I realized how difficult it is to get the right person.

There was a carload of people next to my bike watching the whole thing. They were astonished that it was my bike and not the thieves'. Whatever....

I use a cable lock. I like it because I can lock anywhere and stretch it to get the wheels secure in one shot. Perhaps more bike racks would make it so we can use u-locks. whatever. Based on the past thefts, it doesn't seem to matter. Weren't the others Kryptos?

I was in the store for about 15 minutes. The bike was in a VERY visible place. There are racks along Mass Ave. I locked to a street light.

Also, can you describe the perps, as we can be on the lookout for these creeps.

If only the defense "they shot horse thieves, right?" worked in the case of bicycles.

Glad to here your ride is safe. How long were you inside? Was the bike in a highly visible area? Did anyone else witness this?

I walked out of the Economy Hardware on Mass Ave at 6 ish today to see two people standing around my bike in the middle of stealing it. I ran forward, the guy saw me laughed as if we were friends. Then he took a swing at me with the bolt cutters. I ducked. He ran. I got on my bike to follow. I couldn't find him.

My bike is sacred and I am glad to still have it. I will make a police report tomorrow.

They were wearing helmets ! I imagine to look more legitimate.
