in terms of working on "an action": yesterday i didn't know what to do
with myself but i knew i wanted to do something. the first
organization i thought of to contact in terms of advocacy for the
shared use of streets and awareness of bicycles and pedestrians in
them was Livable Streets (http://www.livablestreets.info/front_page).

i wrote to Jeff Rosenblum (co-founder and executive director) and he
sent the following:

Hi Terra,
Thanks for writing. Would love to get you involved in our work! Here are
some links to some of my latest advocacy efforts. I could always use
help with photography, measurements, type of thing. And if you're
interested, getting up to speed on the "livable streets" concept, and
going around to organizations and neighborhood associations with a stock
slideshow and video clips that I'm putting together to help get out the
word... lets talk.

And don't forget to take a deep breath... and exhale. Something I have
to remind myself regularly in my work.

I'll also forward you some of our work on Comm Ave, the intersection at
the BU bridge, what a mess that is...

Best,
Jeff

thought i would pass along the info in case anyone else is interested
in getting involved with their organization. i haven't decided yet
how exactly i can help them, but i am going to try to get involved in
some of their events and planning.

best,
-terra
