[*BCM*] Massachusetts Bicycle

Just to be clear, MassBike as an email list for announcements only -- that's
what I was suggesting people sign up for at http://massbike.org/gather/.
MassBike also has separate Google Groups listservs for discussions. So you
can get the newsletters without seeing the discussions.

I completely disagree. Occasional notices and newsletters are fine
and don't substantially affect my email bandwidth; and I would like to
stay on top of as much local bike info as I can. A couple emails a
month is no big deal, and it's good to keep us all apprised.

(massbike email list aside: I finally gave up on the massbike list
because of the frequent and unpleasant arguments -- of a sort we have
seen on this list in the last 24 hours. The list had become a forum
for perennial debate and no apparent progress was ever made. I think
MB does itself a real disservice by allowing a few people, especially
people who are or were board members, to dominate a list named after
the organization, giving the impression that the organization itself
is as crotchety and impotent as the list discussions are. indeed,
this is why I have not been involved with MB at all, despite many
years of passionate involvement with other bike organizations.)
