Thanks Dan! You can send a check to me at 36 Taft Hill Park, Roslindale, MA
02131.

I know that there are some lower cost domain name registration providers. We
use GANDI.NET, which is a Eurpoean company. When we first started with
GANDI, the dollar was stronger and the cost was only $8 or $9, but as the
dollar has dropped with respect to the Euro it has gone up to $14 or $15.

GANDI seemed to have the best policies of all the registrars I looked at.
I've dealt with several other registrars in various capacities, including
godaddy.com which is probably the cheapest, and I've found them to be
inferior in various ways. (Godaddy in particular has been very rude in
dealing with customer service issues on the phone).

I've noticed some tendency for websites with free speech interests to use
GANDI--the fact that it is located in France may make it more difficult to
use legal means to shut down the site, at least if the party seeking to shut
it down is in the United States.

The facts that GANDI has been very reliable, has good policies, perhaps is
more protective of free speech plus the fees we would incur switching to
another registrar have been enough for me to justify the additional $5 or so
per year over the lowest cost provider.
