"No one in their right mind would ride a bicycle on Memorial Drive. Hundreds 
of bicyclists use the sidewalk along the Charles River daily."

Eh, biking on Memorial Drive isn't that big of a deal. I did it once.. 
granted, I was using my highest gear and pretty much going faster than I'd 
ever gone on my bike. May not have been the safest way to get downtown for 
me, but it's a helluva lot faster than the root-riddled sidewalk on which 
the majority of the traffic consists of recreational cyclists, joggers, 
walkers, et cetera.

Anyway, back to being on vacation. Have fun in the rain! ;D
